Cover Letter – motivations for applying Please provide the information you would typically include in your cover letter in 300 words or less. Be sure to provide examples of the qualities you would bring to Goldman Sachs and describe your motivations for applying. If you are applying to more than one division, please discuss your motivations for applying to each.

In October, I had a magnificent opportunity to gain an insight into Goldman Sachs and meet its employees during the 2016 LGBT Success in the City Event. Ivan Shutovich – Vice President at Goldman Sachs – and Tony Foster – Executive Director at the firm – along with a couple of other people shared some of their knowledge with me and strongly encouraged me to apply to Goldman Sachs for the Spring Program in 2017. I believe that the company named the “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality” for the 12th consecutive year will be a perfect environment for me as a bisexual person of Polish origin.

I am particularly interested in the Operations division at Goldman Sachs because it is at the heart of every bank making sure that everything is done correctly and precisely to make transactions work.  I want to work in this division because of the chance to make an impact on the company as well as the balance that a position in Operations provides – one does not only work with numbers but also spends a time in a constant interaction with others.

In addition to that,  I believe that I possess certain abilities that would be relevant to this area with communication as well as collaboration skills being the most important of them. A good example of how I showed them is my presidency at the Young Poles Association when I worked in and led a team of 5 people to organise a business conference for over 100 youngsters from my region. Furthermore, I possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities proved by my work as a sales representative for GEO-ECO Sp. z o. o. in Poland where I had to analyse the current market prices of the agricultural goods.
